Kitten Season Appeal: Why We Need Your Help

Kitten season has arrived and Sandbach Animal Rescue faces rising costs. Learn how just £6 a month can help save kittens and support their future.

Kitten season is always a busy and joyful time, but for Sandbach Animal Rescue it is also one of the most demanding. At the moment we are caring for twelve kittens, with at least five more expected in the coming weeks. Each one is a precious life, but the cost of making sure they grow up healthy and protected is significant – and it’s a challenge we face every single year.

On average, every kitten we rehome costs around £240. This figure covers essential vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, neutering, microchipping and, of course, the food and litter they need while in our care.

With our current numbers, that amounts to over £5,000 just for this one group of kittens, and that’s before we even consider the adult cats who still rely on us at the rescue and in foster homes. It is a constant financial strain that we simply cannot meet without help.

That’s why we are asking our supporters if they would consider making a small regular donation to see us through these difficult months.

Even £6 or £12 a month – the price of just one coffee a week – would make an enormous difference if enough people joined in.

By setting up a direct debit here you’ll give us the reassurance of steady support and allow us to spend more of our time where it matters most – caring for the animals.

Some of our newest arrivals include Kiwi and Papaya, two adorable kittens born to a stray mum who was lucky enough to find shelter with a kind family. We’ve also welcomed Buttons and Chip, Crumble and Tiramisu, and the siblings Rain, Flow and Puddle.

Each one is bursting with personality and potential, and each one is a reminder of why we do this work – to give vulnerable cats and kittens the safe, happy start they deserve.

By supporting us with a regular gift, you’ll be part of their journey too.
