Back in 2020, Daisy was just two years old when her owners made the difficult decision to surrender her. The arrival of a new baby had left Daisy feeling overwhelmed and anxious.

A gentle soul who preferred the quiet comfort of indoor life, Daisy found the rescue environment challenging – especially because she wasn’t fond of sharing space with other cats.
Thankfully, after a few months, a kind-hearted woman was drawn to Daisy’s timid charm and offered her a peaceful, loving home.
Five years passed, but sadly Daisy returned to our care. The arrival of several roaming tomcats in her neighbourhood had deeply unsettled her, and her elderly owner was struggling to cope.
During her first few days back at the rescue, Daisy retreated into her pink fluffy blanket, refusing food and hiding away. Fortunately, a foster placement became available with a wonderful family, giving Daisy a chance to decompress in a quieter setting away from the hustle of rescue life.
Gradually, Daisy began to come out of her shell. She spent more time exploring and eventually, in a touching moment, climbed onto her foster mum’s lap – a small but powerful sign of trust.
After nearly 90 days with us and no adoption interest, Daisy finally had a viewing. They say cats choose their humans, and Daisy proved it – emerging from her hiding spot to greet the visitor with a gentle head rub, much to the joy and surprise of her foster family.
From her very first night in her new home, Daisy settled in beautifully – even curling up on her new mum’s bed that evening.
We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect “happily ever after” for our sweet Daisy.
From Daisy’s New Mum
“An update on Daisy’s first evening and night. She seemed to settle very quickly, sitting on the windowledge. I sat on the floor and she came and rubbed herself on me and was pushing against me.
I went to bed and about 2.30am I felt something jump on my bed!! (I had decided to leave the living room door open a little). I thought I was dreaming then opened my eyes and there she was, kneading my blanket and purring.
She jumped on and off the bed until about 5.30!!! She LOVES her chin being stroked and her tail was up in the air showing off.”
Daisy’s story is just one example of the care and commitment we provide at Sandbach Animal Rescue. From the moment she returned to us, our team and foster families worked patiently to rebuild her confidence, giving her the time, love, and safe space she needed to flourish again. It’s through this dedicated support – and the kindness of our community – that cats like Daisy can find their true forever homes.
